Help & support

Frequently asked questions.

Answers to common questions about leasing, payments, and making a domain your own.

Getting started

Who is behind Namekeen?

Namekeen is operated by CAIQ LLC, a registered California company (CA License #3221611). We have worked with entrepreneurs, businesses, and website developers for more than 20 years to make brandable domains available through monthly leasing. Your lease agreement sets out the terms, and we can provide customer references on request.

How long does a domain lease last?

Our standard lease term is five years, with monthly payments and the option to cancel at any time. Lease payments can be applied toward the domain’s purchase price during the lease. Review your agreement for the terms that apply to your domain, or contact us to discuss a different arrangement.

Can I use my domain with a website builder?

Yes. Keep your domain with Namekeen and connect it to your website or email provider using DNS records. Your domain dashboard includes setup guides for services such as Squarespace, Shopify, Wix, and Google Workspace. Your provider’s subscription is separate from your domain lease.

Payments & purchasing

How do I pay for my domain?

Monthly lease payments are processed through Stripe. We accept major credit cards and offer direct payment options. Contact support if you need help choosing a payment method.

How is my payment information handled?

Stripe handles payment processing and stores your payment card details. Namekeen does not store your full card details on its servers. You can manage billing from your domain dashboard.

Can I buy my domain outright?

Yes. During your lease, you can purchase the domain and apply your lease payments toward the purchase price, as set out in your agreement. Domain purchases are handled through Escrow.com, which manages the payment and transfer process for both buyer and seller.

Managing your lease

How do I cancel my lease?

You can cancel through the lease settings in your domain dashboard. Once the lease is canceled, the domain is released and becomes available to other customers. Contact us if you need help or would like to discuss another option.
